Artificial intelligence is the study of embedding human thinking in computers. AI, which began a long time ago, has recently reached a state of maturity through several breakthroughs and is now expected to play a significant role in revolutionizing industries and living standards and taking human civilization to the next level.

In response to this trend, traditional industries such as manufacturing and high-tech industries such as Internet services are opening up to the value of AI. Many companies are looking for talented people who can help them integrate AI. Moreover, it is difficult to find talented people in AI, so the future of students majoring in AI is very promising.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence was established to cultivate interdisciplinary talents who will play a vital role in the convergence of AI and diverse fields, based on the recognition of AI's human and civilizational value and its momentous social demand.

We provide a balanced curriculum between theory and practice, including theoretical core courses, applied courses, AI+X convergence courses, and project courses, to produce talents with these ABCD virtues.

In addition, our faculty members are renowned experts in various fields, such as engineering, medicine, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, business administration, and art and design, both within and outside of KU.
