We have a tradition of nurturing talented students to contribute to the creation of minds and cultures, which are the basic foundations of modern society. With this primary concern, we strive to produce holistic, interdisciplinary talents who will lead the current of the new era. Our majors are harmoniously arranged with traditional and new applied liberal arts disciplines, and our excellent faculty members provide on-the-job training by interacting with their courses and exchanging information. Currently, there are 8 departments in the College of Liberal Arts, including the Department of Korean Language and Literature, the Department of English Language and Literature, the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, the Department of Philosophy, the Department of History, the Department of Geography, the Department of Media and Communication, and the Department of Culture and Contents, covering a wide range of interests in the liberal arts. In addition, the College of Liberal Arts has newly established double major programs, including the Human ICT Major, the Global MICE Major, and the Counseling and Healing Major, to cultivate talented individuals for the new era.
As a result, the College of Liberal Arts has become a leading institution in the liberal arts field in Korea with its outstanding research and teaching. Many of our graduates have made significant contributions to our society by demonstrating their insight and creativity based on the liberal arts in various fields such as business, media, public administration, education, culture, arts, and politics.
In a rapidly changing post-pandemic world, it's time to find a new direction for life based on the liberal arts. Throughout history, the liberal arts have always shown us the direction we should go, and we hope they will continue to anchor us in the future. While inheriting the knowledge and achievements of literature, sociology, and philosophy built up in the long history of mankind, the College of Liberal Arts aims to become a cradle of creative cultural talents that leads the times through innovation in response to the needs of the new era. We hope you will continue to support the College of Liberal Arts at Konkuk University as you have done so far. Thank you.
