‘Sahoeyoung Joongangsilbi Jinryowon(meaning: Central medical centre run by the society that provides medical service at actual expenses)’, the origin of Konkuk University was established in 1931 and took its first step as an educational institution by establishing Chosen School of Politics in 1946. Later in 1959, Konkuk University became a comprehensive university like today. The history shows Konkuk’s development stages over the era of turmoil to transform into a global university that serves the society and contributes to the prospertiy of mankind.
Konkuk University offers various educational programs for its students to equip them with problem-solving skills through creative and innovative thinking while fulfilling its social responsibility, developing new technology through innovation and creation. in addition, Konkuk operates diverse programs to reinforce its international capabilities and to culture global talents.
Konkuk will progress toward an innovative university that projects alternative solutions for the challenges mankind is facing. In order to to do, Konkuk will focuse on research and the cooperation between university and industry whiline reinforcing the link with the local community
