The Korean cosmetics industry is ranked among the top 10 in the world and is being intensively promoted to become one of the top 7 in 2020. The cosmetics industry is becoming an essential pillar of the bio-healthcare sector and the pharmaceutical industries to protect skin function and improve skin aging and skin diseases by combining precision chemical and bio-engineering technologies. To quickly respond to these changes in the cosmetics industry and contribute to the development of the cosmetics industry, the Department of Cosmetics Engineering was established for the first time in a 4-year university in Seoul. Our mission is to "train global cosmetics industry professionals who will lead the development of the future healthcare and cosmetics industry, focusing on company customization and industry demand".
Based on the world-class faculty and educational facilities and cooperation with extensive domestic and foreign cosmetic companies, we offer specialized courses in cosmetic new material development, cosmetic formulation and formulation process, cosmetic quality inspection, cosmetic efficacy evaluation, cosmetic brand marketing, and dermatological science related to cosmetic manufacturing. In addition, we strive to strengthen the competitiveness of our graduates by establishing a mandatory internship system, supporting job placement and the "4+1 linked master's graduation program".
