Applied Statistics is an academic field that studies the theory and methodology of collecting, analyzing, and predicting data based on quantitative methods of analysis.
Therefore, statistical methodology is applied not only in economics, management, and other business fields, but also in sociology, psychology, political science, science, engineering, and any other field that analyzes survey and experimental data.
Statistical analysis methods are widely used in private research, which analyzes through research, surveys, or experiments and in public institutions, including companies and other organizations that collect and analyze information and make decisions. This situation is expected to continue to increase in the future.
The demand for statistical analysis and consulting has exploded in various fields of society, leading to an increasing demand for professionals involved in statistical analysis.
To ensure quality statistical counseling and to certify qualified statistical analysts, Korea is also implementing a certification system similar to that of the United States.
