Introduction
The Department of Urban Regeneration at KU Graduate School specializes in strengthening urban competitiveness, land, cities, regions, and housing in the 4th Industrial Revolution, which is expected to be transformed by the convergence of information and communication technologies (ICT) such as big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Governments worldwide are making various efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of cities in economic, social, physical, and environmental aspects. Korea is also striving to improve the competitiveness of its declining cities in line with the trend of the 4th Industrial Revolution. However, there is a significant need for a more innovative workforce suitable for this. It is more urgent than ever to cultivate innovative talent that can improve people's quality of life, solve local problems, enhance the competitiveness of cities, and contribute to economic revitalization and national development.
Therefore, the Department of Urban Regeneration trains talented urban regeneration experts at the Master's and Ph.D. levels to meet the needs of the times. In particular, we approach solutions to urban problems based on interdisciplinary ideas and provide research and education that satisfy both 'research' and 'education' and 'realistic policy application'.
